This morning two Ravens were seen on one of the pylons. Two Blackcaps, a male and a female, were along the Ouse Dyke. A Swallow and a Peregrine were also seen. JMD.
In the afternoon three Little Gulls flew through. Later on a Barn Owl was seen hunting, a Snipe was seen and about 300 Sand Martins came in to roost in the reed bed. RW.
This morning there were about twenty Sand Martins by the railway bridge, which were briefly joined by a lone Swallow. Beside the Slurry Lagoon a Willow Warbler sang briefly and a Little Ringed Plover flew over. There are now at least fifteen Chiffchaffs singing around the site. PS. SC.
This morning there was a female Wheatear on the fence beside the Deep Pit and a Black-tailed Godwit was on the Slurry Lagoon, until two hot-air balloons flushed everything off. There was a light passage of Swallows, some Meadow Pipits and Siskins with one or two Skylarks. PS.
In the afternoon a Greenshank stopped briefly and a Hobby was seen hawking dragonflies. RW.
This morning a lot of migrants were about and a Pied Flycatcher was found in the Boundary hedge. It later moved along the hedge to Willow Pond. There were also two Little Ringed Plovers on the Wader Scrape, two Common Terns in the Deep Pit, a Common Sandpiper on the river bank, two Yellow Wagtails on the Causeway and there were lots more warblers about including Willow, Sedge and Garden Warblers and Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs. There were a few Swallows and Sand Martins and one House Martin. Also seen were a Jay and a singing Treecreeper. PS.
On the dry end of the Slurry Lagoon this afternoon there were two very tired looking Little Ringed Plovers. One or two Swallows were about as well as three Sand Martins and there were six Little Egrets on the Wader Scrape. PS.
This evening the Starling roost was really spectacular as about 8,500 birds came in to roost. Hundreds of corvids were flying across the site and then about 1,500 Canada and Grey-lag Geese arrived en mass on the Slurry Lagoon. As this was all going on a juvenile Swallow came in from the north and circled the lagoon a few times, as if making up its mind whether to join the Starlings or not, but then flew off to the north. A Sparrowhawk was seen three times trying to catch a Starling from the roost and a Water Rail flew across the gap in the reeds in front of the Causeway bench. PS.
A Garganey is still present on the Wader Scrape and a Hobby was seen chasing the Swallows by the railway bridge. On the Ouse Dyke the Green Sandpiper was seen to be still in residence. There are also several dragonflies about with Migrant Hawker, Southern Hawker, Ruddy Darter, Common Darter, Banded Demoiselle and Common Blue Damselflies all being seen. SC.

This morning there were two Common Terns on the Deep Pit, four Little Ringed Plovers on the Wader Scrape and two on the Slurry Lagoon dry end. There were several Sedge Warblers, three Lesser Whitethroats, three Swallows, six Sand Martins and a House Martin. PS.
This afternoon, on the Wader Scrape, there was a Green Sandpiper, a Dunlin, three Little Ringed Plovers and a White Wagtail. A Swallow flew through and several Sand Martins were seen. In the reed bed on the Slurry Lagoon a Sedge Warbler was singing. PS. RW.
