During the Patchwatch today sixty-five species of birds were seen by 16.30hrs. These included the Bittern, three Pintail, Green Sandpiper, Yellow Wagtail and roving Siskins and Redpolls. PS.

Pintail – 20th September
A Pintail was seen on the Slurry Lagoon today. RW.
Black-tailed Godwit – 20th September
This morning there was a female Wheatear on the fence beside the Deep Pit and a Black-tailed Godwit was on the Slurry Lagoon, until two hot-air balloons flushed everything off. There was a light passage of Swallows, some Meadow Pipits and Siskins with one or two Skylarks. PS.
In the afternoon a Greenshank stopped briefly and a Hobby was seen hawking dragonflies. RW.
Pintail – 20th September
There are still three Pintail (all in eclipse/juvenile plumage) on the Slurry Lagoon. There are also still some butterflies and dragonflies about, including Comma, Peacock, Red Admiral and Brown Hawker. PS.
Wheatear – 20th September
This morning there were two Wheatears on the dry end of the Slurry Lagoon, amongst the Coltsfoot. At the other end there was a Yellow-legged Gull and two Pintail are still present. RW.
