This morning there was a Greenshank on the Ecopark, and a Snipe on the Slurry Lagoon, with four Wigeon. In the afternoon, a Hobby, Marsh Harrier, Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, two Kestrels and a Peregrine were seen. Also two Dunlin flew over the site. A Water Shrew was seen in the Ouse Dyke. IEP.
This afternoon a juvenile Arctic Tern passed through. There were two Green Sandpipers and a Garganey on the Slurry Lagoon and a Common Sandpiper and a Green Sandpiper on the Ecopark. Also seen was a flock of around 50 Goldfinches. RW.
In the late afternoon two Spotted Flycatchers were seen along the Boundary Hedge. About 100 hirundines were overhead and were paid a visit by a Hobby. JMD.
Two Greenshank flew around the Slurry Lagoon before settling on the Wader Scrape this afternoon. A Hobby was seen chasing the migrating hirundines that were feeding near the railway bridge and a Clouded Yellow butterfly flew across the site heading north. RW.
Today on the Slurry Lagoon there were two Green Sandpipers and a Hobby was seen catching insects. Four terns, which proved to be three adults and one juvenile Common Tern, flew in to bathe before continuing on migration and later two more juveniles did the same thing. One or two Yellow Wagtails also flew over. PS.
