This morning, during the bird-count, a male Common Scoter was found on the Deep Pit. A Great White Egret was fishing on the Slurry Lagoon and a Redwing was seen. There were still a few Chiffchaffs about and a male Blackcap. PS

This afternoon there were three Great White Egrets on the Slurry Lagoon. About 1,000 Starlings came in to roost and a Barn Owl and a Tawny Owl were seen, as well as a Noctule and a Pipistrelle. RW.
This morning a Water Rail was seen scuttling across the gap in front of the Causeway Bench. There were two other birds calling. There were 21 Dabchicks on the Slurry Lagoon and good numbers of Wigeon and Shovelers. There was a light passage of Swallows, Skylarks, Meadow Pipits and Siskins. PS, AAS.
In the afternoon a pair of Willow Emeralds in tandem were seen ovipositing in the Small Gravel Pit. RW.
This morning there was some migration activity as seven Swallows and five Siskins were seen flying over the site. Later, two Spoonbills flew over, towards Holme Pierrepont. Also seen were two Egyptian Geese and a flock of thirteen Stock Doves. PS.
This afternoon a Marsh Harrier was seen flying over the Slurry Lagoon reed-beds. RW.
This morning two Ravens flew over the reserve. A Snipe was on the little beach in front of the Causeway bench and five Little Egrets were at the back of the Slurry Lagoon. PS
This morning a Great White Egret flew over the Slurry Lagoon and down into the Ouse Dyke. Two Egyptian Geese flew over the site, a Reed Warbler was still foraging in the Slurry Lagoon reed-bed, and a Raven flew up from the Slurry Lagoon to the pylons carrying a large piece of food. PS.
A juvenile Black Tern was seen on the Slurry Lagoon this afternoon. IEP.
This afternoon there were two Black-necked Grebes on the Slurry Lagoon. there were also three Swifts hawking insects overhead. TK.
This morning there was a Greenshank on the Ecopark, and a Snipe on the Slurry Lagoon, with four Wigeon. In the afternoon, a Hobby, Marsh Harrier, Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, two Kestrels and a Peregrine were seen. Also two Dunlin flew over the site. A Water Shrew was seen in the Ouse Dyke. IEP.
