This afternoon there were three Great White Egrets on the Slurry Lagoon. About 1,000 Starlings came in to roost and a Barn Owl and a Tawny Owl were seen, as well as a Noctule and a Pipistrelle. RW.

Great White Egret – 18th September
This morning a Great White Egret flew over the Slurry Lagoon and down into the Ouse Dyke. Two Egyptian Geese flew over the site, a Reed Warbler was still foraging in the Slurry Lagoon reed-bed, and a Raven flew up from the Slurry Lagoon to the pylons carrying a large piece of food. PS.
Great White Egret – 13th May
This evening a Great White Egret flew over the Ecopark. Also there were a Greenshank, two Shoveler, a Yellow Wagtail dropped in briefly and two Lapwings on the ploughed field past the footbridge. Also on site were a Cuckoo and a Green Woodpecker. There was a report of a Turnstone present earlier. IEP.
Great White Egret – 1st May
Early this afternoon a Great White Egret flew down river. There were two Hobbies and a Wheatear on the riverside sheep field and a Yellow Wagtail and Ringed Plover on the Ecopark. RW.
Arctic Tern – 28th April
In the afternoon thirteen Arctic Terns went through and there were also four or more Common Terns on the site. Also present were one Grasshopper Warbler, one Swift, sixty plus Swallows and six or more House Martins and a Red Kite. A Great White Egret flew over in the evening. RW.
Great White Egret – 11th April
This morning, during the Bird Count, there was a Little Ringed Plover, a Green Sandpiper and two Shelducks on the Eco-park. Across the river another Little Ringed Plover and a Great White Egret were seen. NWG.
Great White Egret – 14th March
This morning, during the Monthly Bird Count, a Great White Egret was seen over the Large Gravel Pit and eight Goldeneye were swimming on the Deep Pit. Several Chiffchaffs were heard singing and there were still some winter thrushes about. A Treecreeper was seen along the Ouse Dyke, three Kingfishers were seen, and a Stoat was on the Causeway. NWG.
Raven – 28th November
This morning a Raven was seen flying towards the recycling plant. The Great White Egret was seen driving two Little Egrets from the Ouse Dyke so that it could pinch their fishing spot and two Snipe flew over pursued by a 1st winter male Peregrine, and managed to get away. PS.

Great White Egret – 27th November
This morning the Great White Egret was seen on the Slurry Lagoon, where it had a close encounter with a fox. It was, however, the Grey Heron that saw it off. There was a Chiffchaff near the bird table and some more Lesser Redpolls on the birches. PS.
Bittern – 19th November
This evening, at dusk, a Bittern was seen circling the lagoons, calling, before disappearing in the gloom. A Great White Egret was seen in the field across the river. A Raven flew through and a Barn Owl was out hunting. RW.
