This evening a Great White Egret flew over the Ecopark. Also there were a Greenshank, two Shoveler, a Yellow Wagtail dropped in briefly and two Lapwings on the ploughed field past the footbridge. Also on site were a Cuckoo and a Green Woodpecker. There was a report of a Turnstone present earlier. IEP.

Garganey – 13th May
This morning there were eight Shelduck and a male Garganey on the Slurry Lagoon. The Wader Scrape had two Little Ringed Plover and two Oystercatchers as well as two Wheatears. There were plenty of warblers singing but still no Grasshopper Warbler. Later in the morning a Hobby flew over near the railway bridge. PS et al.
Little Ringed Plover – 13th May
A sudden downpour this afternoon produced three Little Ringed Plovers on the Slurry Lagoon. For a while they were feeding on the shoreline and then one started to fly over the lagoon calling in a display flight. Soon the other two joined it and all three were calling as they gained height and continued their journey. PS.
