This morning the Great White Egret was seen on the Slurry Lagoon, where it had a close encounter with a fox. It was, however, the Grey Heron that saw it off. There was a Chiffchaff near the bird table and some more Lesser Redpolls on the birches. PS.
This morning a pair of Stonechats was seen on the Wader Scrape. Five Little Egrets were along the Ouse Dyke and a Snipe was seen over the Slurry Lagoon reedbed. PS.
This evening there were at least four Cetti’s Warblers singing on the site and several Water Rail were calling from the reed beds. Two Tawny Owls flew over the reed bed in the Deep Pit and some Snipe were heard as they flew against the dark sky. PS.
