This afternoon there were three Little Ringed Plovers on the Eco-park. There was a Garden Warbler singing as well as a Willow Warbler, five Blackcaps and several Chiffchaffs. There was also what possibly was a White Wagtail on the Eco-park. IP.

Osprey – 30th March
This morning there were two Shelduck on the Deep Pit. There are now seven Sand Martins by the railway bridge, and there were two Blackcaps, six Chiffchaffs and eight Cetti’s Warblers singing. DM.
Later on an Osprey was seen flying over the site JDn.
An Orange-tip was seen and four Little Ringed Plovers were on the Eco-park. RW.
Blackcap – 29th March
This morning there were two Blackcaps singing, six Sand Martin’s by the bridge on the river, ten singing Chiffchaff and two Mistle Thrushes, three Lapwing and three Shelduck on the Eco Park area. Also lots of butterflies;
1 Small White,
10 Small Tortoiseshell.
11 Brimstone
10 Peacock
Also 2 Toads and 3 Roe Deer. SC/PG.
Great White Egret – 14th March
This morning, during the Monthly Bird Count, a Great White Egret was seen over the Large Gravel Pit and eight Goldeneye were swimming on the Deep Pit. Several Chiffchaffs were heard singing and there were still some winter thrushes about. A Treecreeper was seen along the Ouse Dyke, three Kingfishers were seen, and a Stoat was on the Causeway. NWG.
Green Sandpiper – 20th February
A Green Sandpiper was on the Ecopark, as well as a flock of twenty Chaffinches which also contained a Lesser Redpoll and there were good numbers of Redwings. The Chiffchaff was still along the Ouse Dyke and a male Goosander flew over the Deep Pit. IP.
Raven – 1st February
This morning, on the flooded land beside the Ouse Dyke, a Green Sandpiper and a Mistle Thrush were seen, also a Kingfisher on the Ouse Dyke. A Raven flew over the site, calling, and two Chiffchaffs were heard calling. SC/PG

Great White Egret – 27th November
This morning the Great White Egret was seen on the Slurry Lagoon, where it had a close encounter with a fox. It was, however, the Grey Heron that saw it off. There was a Chiffchaff near the bird table and some more Lesser Redpolls on the birches. PS.
Woodcock – 25th November
This morning a Woodcock was seen in the Slurry Lagoon reed bed, near the bench. The Pintail was on the Slurry Lagoon and a Chiffchaff was on the Deep Pit bank. PS.
Goosander – 11th October
This morning, during the Bird-count, there were several flocks, totalling around 300 Redwings seen around the site as well as about thirty Fieldfares. Redpoll, Siskin and Skylarks were also seen and heard passing overhead and there were still plenty of Chiffchaffs about. At about mid-day five female Goosander were seen flying downriver. PS.
Cuckoo – 26th April
This morning two Cuckoos were calling from opposite sides of the Slurry Lagoon. There were seventeen singing Chiffchaffs, ten singing Willow Warblers, fourteen singing Blackcaps, four singing Garden Warblers, seven singing Lesser Whitethroats, twelve singing Whitethroats, thirteen singing Sedge Warblers and ten singing Reed Warblers.
