Late this afternoon a Dunlin and a Ringed Plover were on the Slurry Lagoon. JMD.

Green Sandpiper – 10th April
This afternoon, on the Wader Scrape, there was a Green Sandpiper, a Dunlin, three Little Ringed Plovers and a White Wagtail. A Swallow flew through and several Sand Martins were seen. In the reed bed on the Slurry Lagoon a Sedge Warbler was singing. PS. RW.
Black Swan – 27th September
This afternoon a Black Swan settled on the Slurry Lagoon. There were also five Ringed Plover, three Dunlin, a Greenshank and thirteen Common Snipe. RW.
Dunlin – 22nd April
A Dunlin was on the Wader Scrape mid afternoon and at least one Little Egret still present. JMD.
Dunlin – 20th July
A single Dunlin was on our Wader Scrape this evening. Eighteen Common Terns flew in to roost on the Tern Platforms including the only two juveniles to fledge from the Platforms this year. On the Slurry Lagoon at least one Coot chick has hatched from the nest at the back edge of the Lagoon. JMD.
Ringed Plover – 20th May
There has been a little wader passage this weekend, with 9 Dunlin, 5 Ringed Plover, 4 Little Ringed Plover and one Turnstone still on the Wader Scrape and 2 Oystercatchers, a Common Sandpiper and a Greenshank on the river. Later a Hobby was taken into care after apparently colliding with a fence. PS.
Rock Pipit – 7th November
A Rock Pipit paused briefly on the Slurry Lagoon this afternoon, where there were also three Dunlins and a Little Egret and later, an adult Yellow-legged Gull. The Pintail is still on the Large Gravel Pit. RW.
Brambling – 25th October
This afternoon there were two Dunlin feeding amongst the Lapwings and gull flock on the Slurry Lagoon. One Lesser Redpoll flew over and two Bramblings flew up from the hedgerow beside the Ouse Dyke. PS.
Ruff – 8th September
This evening two Ruff and two Dunlin dropped in, onto the Slurry Lagoon. There were also about 120 Sand Martins, 340 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 1,000 Black-headed Gulls. RW.
Mediterranean Gull – 31st August
This afternoon, on the Slurry Lagoon there was a juvenile/1st winter Mediterranean Gull, with a white colour ring. Also present were two Greenshank, two juvenile Little Ringed Plover, two Dunlin and two Water Rail. There were either one or two Cetti’s Warblers present in the Deep Pit and a Hobby flew over. Overhead there were nine Common Buzzards flying together. RW.
