Siskin – 8th March

This morning there were eight Siskins feeding in Alders along the Access Track, a Red Kite glided over the Large Gravel Pit and an Oystercatcher flew over the Deep Pit towards the river. A Chiffchaff was singing along the Ouse Dyke, another along the Lower Path and one along the Riverside Walk. PS/DM/RJP/IEP.

Whooper Swan – 3rd November

 This morning there were 11 Whooper Swan in total. 6 flew through west calling, there was a single bird briefly on the Large Gravel Pit before being chased off by Mute Swans and 4 flew east late morning. -The 1st winter Caspian Gull was still on the Deep Pit.-c250 Redwing in several flocks through the morning.- A Drake Pintail still on the Eco-park.- 10+ Skylark through. Bittern – 7th June

This morning a Bittern was seen, first flying around the Deep Pit and then over the Slurry Lagoon, there was also a Little Egret in the Deep Pit. The Mute Swans on the Slurry Lagoon now have five cygnets and the pair on the Large Gravel Pit have three. A Cuckoo was heard calling for about an hour from the large willow by the Large Gravel Pit.
