This morning, during the Bird Count, a Firecrest was found on Willow Walk, by the steps. It was followed all the way along Willow Walk and about fifty yards down the Lower Path, where it stayed for a while. A Peregrine was also seen by the power lines and a Golden Plover over the Severn/Trent fields. PS.
A flock of about 65 Waxwings were on the site this afternoon, in the bushes along the Willow Walk. They then flew off over the Slurry Lagoon reed bed. PS, TK.
This morning there was a Jack snipe, flushed from beside the Large Gravel Pit. There was also a Common Snipe in the Deep Pit. By the Slurry Lagoon a Golden Plover called as it flew over and there was a small flock of Linnets. Along the Willow Walk a Goldcrest was briefly seen. PS.
