This afternoon three Bearded Tits were seen in the Slurry Lagoon reed-bed as well as a Marsh Harrier. On the Ecopark there were four Green Sandpipers and 82 Teal. RW.

Raven – 13th March
This morning two Ravens crossed and recrossed the reserve, calling the whole time. Two Brimstones were seen and a Small Tortoiseshell. PS.
In the evening a Wheatear was seen on the ploughed field. JDn.
Firecrest – 13th March
This morning, during the Bird Count, a Firecrest was found on Willow Walk, by the steps. It was followed all the way along Willow Walk and about fifty yards down the Lower Path, where it stayed for a while. A Peregrine was also seen by the power lines and a Golden Plover over the Severn/Trent fields. PS.
Chiffchaff – 13th March
At last the first spring migrant has arrived. A Chiffchaff was seen in the willows along the Ouse Dyke path this morning, along with two Goldcrests and three Siskins. On the Large Gravel Pit the Golden-eyes were displaying, as were some Lapwings on the Severn/Trent land. A female Goosander was on the river and a flock of Golden Plover were heard calling from towards Stoke Bardolph. PS.
