This morning a juvenile Spotted Redshank was seen on the Ecopark. It flew off towards the river, calling, but could not be relocated. On a little beach near the railway bridge on the river a Common Sandpiper was feeding. MC. PS.

Black Tern – 2nd September
A juvenile Black Tern was seen on the Slurry Lagoon this afternoon. IEP.
Black-necked Grebe – 1st September
This afternoon there were two Black-necked Grebes on the Slurry Lagoon. there were also three Swifts hawking insects overhead. TK.
Marsh Harrier – 27th August
This morning there was a Greenshank on the Ecopark, and a Snipe on the Slurry Lagoon, with four Wigeon. In the afternoon, a Hobby, Marsh Harrier, Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, two Kestrels and a Peregrine were seen. Also two Dunlin flew over the site. A Water Shrew was seen in the Ouse Dyke. IEP.
Raven – 23rd August
This morning two Ravens were flying over by the new pylon area and a Hobby flew high over the site heading south. There were fifteen Little Grebes on the Slurry Lagoon. IEP, PS.
Musk Beetle – 18th August
Hobby – 16th August
This morning six House Martins were feeding over the Slurry Lagoon, when a Hobby alarmed them as it flew through and over to the Large Gravel Pit. A Weasel was seen crossing the Causeway Path. PS/AAS.
Bittern – 8th August
This morning, during the Bird Count, a Bittern was seen flying around the Slurry Lagoon before crashing into a reed-bed. There was also a Yellow-legged Gull on the Deep Pit. PS.
Raven – 2nd August
Early this afternoon two Ravens were seen flying over the Deep Pit. PG.
Grasshopper Warbler – 27th July
This morning a Grasshopper Warbler was heard reeling on the northern bank of the Slurry Lagoon, by the Ouse Dyke. The Water Rail was again seen fluttering across in front of the Causeway bench. PS.
