Two Greenshank flew around the Slurry Lagoon before settling on the Wader Scrape this afternoon. A Hobby was seen chasing the migrating hirundines that were feeding near the railway bridge and a Clouded Yellow butterfly flew across the site heading north. RW.

Mediterranean Gull – 4th August
This afternoon there was a Garganey on the Slurry Lagoon. Also seen was a small, juvenile Water Rail and a Little Egret. A Common Sandpiper was on the Wader Scrape and in the late afternoon a juvenile Mediterranean Gull was seen on the Slurry Lagoon. RW.
Common Sandpiper – 27th July
This morning a Common Sandpiper was on the Wader Scrape. There was also a Little Egret and three Teal on the Slurry Lagoon. PS.
Wood Sandpiper – 4th May
During the “Patchwatch” today a Wood Sandpiper briefly stopped on the Wader Scrape. There were also a Yellow Wagtail, Wheatear (probably a “Greenland” ) and some Swifts were seen passing through. A total of 73 species of bird were seen during the day. PS.
Grey Plover – 3rd May
Early this afternoon a Grey Plover was on the Wader Scrape, also a Wheatear was present. RW.

Wheatear – 17th April
This morning a female Wheatear was on the Wader Scrape, along with five Little Ringed Plovers. Several House Martins and Swallows were passing through. PS.
Common Tern – 13th April
This morning there were two Common Terns on the Deep Pit, four Little Ringed Plovers on the Wader Scrape and two on the Slurry Lagoon dry end. There were several Sedge Warblers, three Lesser Whitethroats, three Swallows, six Sand Martins and a House Martin. PS.
Lesser Whitethroat – 11th April
This afternoon a Lesser Whitethroat was heard singing and seen near the Haven. There were at least four Sedge Warblers in and on the Wader Scrape were four Little Ringed Plover and a Green Sandpiper. Briefly a Yellow Wagtail was also on the Wader Scrape and a White Wagtail and Meadow Pipit. JMD. PS. RW.
Green Sandpiper – 10th April
This afternoon, on the Wader Scrape, there was a Green Sandpiper, a Dunlin, three Little Ringed Plovers and a White Wagtail. A Swallow flew through and several Sand Martins were seen. In the reed bed on the Slurry Lagoon a Sedge Warbler was singing. PS. RW.
Ringed Plover – 8th April
On the Wader Scrape this afternoon there were two Little Ringed Plovers, a Ringed Plover and two White Wagtails. PS.
