Early on this morning two Arctic Terns were seen flying through and a Swift was briefly over the Deep Pit. A Peregrine was seen carrying prey, possibly a small wader. JV.
As it warmed up butterflies began to be seen. On a small, flowering Rowan there were five Green Hairstreaks. Species also seen were Brimstone, Orange-tip, Small White, Green-veined White, Speckled Wood and Peacock. PS.

This morning three Willow Warblers, a Whitethroat and two Sedge Warblers were singing as well as plenty of Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs and a Lesser Whitethroat was singing as it passed through. At least four Water Rails were calling from the Slurry Lagoon reedbed and two Oystercatchers flew noisily over. Butterflies seen included Brimstone, Orange-tip, Green-veined White, Peacock, Comma and Speckled Wood. PS.
Despite the hard frost and cold wind there were still signs of spring at the lagoons this morning. On the Deep Pit a Common Tern dive bombed the Cormorants on the breeding platforms. Along the river bank a Willow Warbler was singing and several butterflies, including a Speckled Wood, were seen. PS. AE.
On the Causeway two Weasels were seen. JG.
This afternoon there were two Spotted Flycatchers seen along the Ouse Dyke. One of them caught a Speckled Wood. A Wheatear was seen still on the dry end of the Slurry Lagoon and the two Pintail and a Yellow-legged Gull were on the wet end.
