This morning there were seven Whooper Swans on the Deep Pit. They had probably spent the night there and had gone by 08.30. There was also a flock of about 20 Lesser Redpolls in a Deep Pit birch tree and a Peregrine was on the new pylon again. PS.

In the evening there were about 10,000 Starlings at the roost , eight more Whooper Swans were seen flying NW and a Tawny Owl was calling from the Deep Pit bank. PR.
This morning there were good numbers of Wigeon on the Slurry Lagoon and Redwings feeding in the Hawthorn. In the evening a Peregrine flew over the Deep Pit and up to the top of the New Pylon. PS.
This morning there were 11 Whooper Swan in total. 6 flew through west calling, there was a single bird briefly on the Large Gravel Pit before being chased off by Mute Swans and 4 flew east late morning. -The 1st winter Caspian Gull was still on the Deep Pit.-c250 Redwing in several flocks through the morning.- A Drake Pintail still on the Eco-park.- 10+ Skylark through. This morning a pair of Stonechats were on the Ecopark. The Slurry Lagoon had masses of ducks, coots and gulls on it, including over 250 Wigeon. PG.
In the afternoon there were two Caspian Gulls and five Yellow-legged Gulls in the Deep Pit area. A Great White Egret was on the Wader Scrape, a Pintail on the Ecopark and two Bramblings on the Severn/Trent field. MC.
A Merlin flew SW through the Deep Pit and over the rail bridge field this afternoon. The 1st Winter Caspian Gull is still around, 15 Siskin and a Redpoll flew through too. Also an ‘Argentatus’ Herring Gull on the Deep Pit. MC.
This morning a small flock of Fieldfares flew over the Slurry Lagoon. There were also some Redwings in the Slurry Lagoon hedge and two Siskins flew over the Deep Pit. PS.
This morning there was a female Goldeneye on the Large Gravel Pit. A Great White Egret was also seen flying over the Deep Pit. The Slurry Lagoon has in excess of 100 Wigeon feeding on it. PS, RJP.
A female Redstart was seen crossing the Pylon Path towards the Deep Pit. Several Skylarks and Swallows flew through and a Lesser Redpoll flew over. A Brimstone was seen near the Pump House. IEP. PS.
