A Green Sandpiper was on the Ecopark, as well as a flock of twenty Chaffinches which also contained a Lesser Redpoll and there were good numbers of Redwings. The Chiffchaff was still along the Ouse Dyke and a male Goosander flew over the Deep Pit. IP.

Marsh Harrier – 5th January
This morning a Marsh Harrier was seen over the Slurry Lagoon, but it was driven off by crows. Also seen was a Peregrine, on the new pylon, a Woodcock along the Riverside Path, two Egyptian Geese in the green field across the river and two Green Sandpipers on the Ecopark. PS.
Goosander – 1st January
This morning a female Goosander flew over the site from the river. On the green field across the river a small herd of Mute Swans was accompanied by a pair of Egyptian Geese and on the flooded Ecopark the Green Sandpiper was still present. PS.
Green Sandpiper – 20th December
During the Monthly Bird Count this morning a Green Sandpiper was found on the flooded end of the Ecopark. A male and a female Peregrine were seen flying together over the Slurry Lagoon and a Treecreeper was found in the willows at the riverside end of the boundary Hedge. PS.
Osprey – 6th October
At mid-day today an Osprey was seen flying along above the river. The Ruddy Shelduck was still to be seen on the Ecopark. RW.
Spotted Redshank – 16th August
This afternoon a Spotted Redshank flew over the site going east. On the Ecopark there were two Ringed Plovers and three Green Sandpipers. The Garganey was also still on the Slurry Lagoon. RW.
Garganey – 21st July
Today a Garganey was seen on the Slurry Lagoon. There were also two Green Sandpipers on the Ecopark. RW.
Curlew – 14th March
A Curlew flew through this afternoon and there were four Green Sandpipers on the Ecopark. JDn.
Bearded Tit – 13th March
This afternoon three Bearded Tits were seen in the Slurry Lagoon reed-bed as well as a Marsh Harrier. On the Ecopark there were four Green Sandpipers and 82 Teal. RW.
Marsh Harrier – 8th March
During the Birdcount this morning the female Marsh Harrier was seen over the Slurry Lagoon reed-bed, where she flushed sixteen Snipe. There were two Green Sandpipers on the Ecopark flood, three Chiffchaffs were singing around the site and a Red-legged Partridge was near the Causeway. PS.
