This morning a Grasshopper Warbler and three Garden Warblers were singing. During the guided Walk a Cuckoo sang from the large willow by the Large Gravel Pit and two Common Terns were seen over the Deep Pit. Four Green Hairstreaks were seen, two were females laying eggs. PS

Cuckoo – 21st April
This morning a Cuckoo was calling from the ash trees along the railway line, before flying out across the Slurry Lagoon and then to the river. Eight Common Terns were making a lot of noise over the Deep Pit. A Grasshopper Warbler was singing from the middle of the Slurry Lagoon reed bed and a Garden Warbler was singing near the railway bridge. PS.
Grasshopper Warbler – 21st April
This morning a Grasshopper Warbler was reeling beside the Large Gravel Pit. Three Common Terns were over the Deep Pit and a Peregrine and a Shelduck flew through. PS.
Marsh Harrier – 21st April
This morning a Whimbrel flew through calling and a Grasshopper Warbler was in the corner of the Slurry Lagoon. In the afternoon two Marsh Harriers went through and also two Little Gulls. There are now at least three Lesser Whitethroats on site. PS.
