A Wheatear was catching insects on the Causeway late morning. A chiffchaff was singing along the Ouse Dyke and a Southern Hawker Dragonfly was hawking for insects also along the Ouse Dyke path. JMD.

Black-tailed Godwit – 20th September
A Black-tailed Godwit was again present on the slurry lagoon this morning together with a Pintail and six Snipe. AE.
Black-tailed Godwit – 19th September
Went down the Lagoons today and had a single Black tailed Godwit, 3 Common Snipe, 2 Water Rail (including one nearly fully grown juv) 3 Common Buzzard, 1 Yellow legged Gull, 3 House Martin, 2 Sparrowhawk, 3 Reed Warbler, 1 Willow Warbler and a single Jay.DM.
Woundwort Sheild Bug – 10th September
I found this Woundwort Sheild Bug Eysarcoris fabricii and a few others on a patch of white dead nettle on the Willow Walk last Thursday 10th September. Simon.

Pintail – 17th September
A female Pintail was on the Slurry Lagoon today, along with two juvenile Shelduck. The flock of Lesser Black-backed Gulls topped 1,000 and included four Herring Gulls, a Great Black-backed Gull and a Yellow-legged Gull. A flock of eighteen Wigeon flew over in the evening, going south.
There are still some Swallows feeding young in a nest under the Railway Bridge and a Reed Warbler sang briefly from the reed bed. PS.
Green Sandpiper – 12th September
This morning there was a Green Sandpiper, Greenshank, Pintail and two Water Rail on the Slurry Lagoon. A Hobby was seen flying over, carrying prey.
Later in the day there were four Water Rail and one Golden Plover and a Hobby hawking insects. At dusk another Greenshank flew in. RW.
Wigeon – 11th September
Five Wigeon were present on the Slurry Lagoon this afternoon along with a Pintail and two Common Gulls.
Later, in the evening, four Curlew went through to the south-west. RW.
More Greenshank – 9th September
Three Greenshank were seen at the lagoons today. Also seen were two Curlew, a Green Sandpiper, a Common Sandpiper and two Water Rail. RW.
Greenshank – 8th September
Two Greenshank, a Water Rail and five Snipe were seen on the Slurry Lagoon this evening. RW.
Greenshank – 7th September
Two Greenshank settled on the Slurry Lagoon this evening, followed by two Green Sandpipers and two juvenile Shelduck. RW.
