This morning, during the Monthly Bird Count, a Raven, Whimbrel, Yellow Wagtail, Whinchat and Stonechat were recorded. NWG.

Spotted Flycatcher – 11th September
This morning, along the Lower Path, a Spotted Flycatcher was seen amongst a flock of tits and warblers. Further along the path two more Spotted Flycatchers were catching flies from the overhead wires. Also seen were a Hobby, Jay, Whitethroat and Blackcap. PS.
Red-crested Pochard – 11th September
This morning, during the bird count, two Red-crested Pochard were seen on the Slurry Lagoon. Large mixed flocks of warblers were foraging around the site, mainly Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps but Whitethroats, a Willow Warbler and a Garden Warbler were also seen. Several family groups of Swallows were also going through during the morning. PS.
Wigeon – 11th September
Five Wigeon were present on the Slurry Lagoon this afternoon along with a Pintail and two Common Gulls.
Later, in the evening, four Curlew went through to the south-west. RW.
