This afternoon at least one Bearded Tit was in the Slurry Lagoon reed-bed and a Marsh Harrier was seen. Two Ruddy Shelduck were on the Ecopark pools as well as 130 Teal and a Green Sandpiper, and a Chiffchaff was along the Ouse Dyke. RW.

Bearded Tit – 11th January
This morning some Bearded Tits were heard calling from the reed bed on the north side of the Slurry Lagoon. PS.
Bittern – 23rd December
This evening a Bittern was seen in the Slurry Lagoon reed-bed. A Bearded Tit was also heard and two Woodcocks flew out to feed. RW.
Woodcock – 4th December
This evening three Woodcock were seen flying to feeding areas at dusk. Four Green Sandpipers are on the Ecopool along with 134 Teal. The Bearded Tits are still in the Slurry Lagoon reed-bed but were heard only. RW, JMD.
Bittern – 2nd December
This evening a Bittern and two Bearded Tits were in the Slurry Lagoon reed beds. RW.
Tawny Owl – 31st November
This evening a Bittern was seen over the Slurry Lagoon reed-beds. Two Tawny Owls were heard calling and a Barn Owl was seen also over the reeds. RW.
Bearded Tit – 29th November
This afternoon a male and a female Bearded Tit were in the Slurry Lagoon reed-bed. A Green Sandpiper and two Chiffchaffs were also seen. RW.
Starlings – 18th November
This evening about 5,000 Starlings came in to roost in the Slurry Lagon reed bed. A Bearded Tit was heard calling from the reed bed and a Green Sandpiper was seen. RW.
Bittern – 17th November
This morning seven Siskins flew over the Lower Path. A Bittern flew over the reed bed in the Slurry Lagoon and two Peregrines were on the new pylon. PS.
Marsh Harrier – 3rd November
This morning a cream-top Marsh Harrier was seen in the Slurry Lagoon reed-bed. It was present for a good part of the morning. A female Peregrine was seen on one of the pylons and there were a few Redwings and Fieldfares about. Several Water Rail were heard calling from the reed-beds and at least six Cetti’s Warblers were singing. PS.
