Pyramidal Orchids – 8th July

Another 21 Pyramidal Orchids were found on the north facing slope of the Deep Pit. A Hobby was the cause of a disturbance amongst the Swallows by the Railway Bridge. At least three Grasshopper Warblers were reeling around the Deep Pit. An Essex Skipper was found on the western end of the Slurry Lagoon.

A Hobby stirred up the Swallows by the Railway Bridge just before a downpour forced us to take shelter under the bridge. The downpour brought down a Common Sandpiper in the Deep Pit and a Little Ringed Plover on the Slurry near ‘The Beach’. A Grasshopper Warbler was reeling in the Slurry reed bed.
