Cuckoo – 24th April
There was a Cuckoo calling from the reeds on the Slurry Lagoon. Two Yellow Wagtails were on the Ecopark, also a House Martin over it. Two Lapwings were over the Large Gravel Pit. IEP.
Common Sandpiper – 24th April
This morning there was still one Common Sandpiper on the river and a Grasshopper Warbler was singing near the Willow Pond. A Wheatear was in the field beyond the Wader Scrape but the four Yellow Wagtails and Wheatear were gone from the potato field across the river. PS.
Swift – 24th April
Today, during the patchwatch, seventy seven species of birds were recorded, including a Swift, two House Martins, three Garden Warblers, eight Lesser Whitethroats and seven Grasshopper Warblers. PS.
