This afternoon a Bearded Tit was seen in the Slurry Lagoon reedbed. 2,000 Starlings came in to roost and there were two Green Sandpipers. RW.

Fieldfare – 21st October
This morning there were three small flocks of Fieldfares seen flying over the site as well as one flock of four Redwings and still some Chiffchaffs were calling from the bushes. PS.
Late afternoon four Bearded Tits were in the Slurry Lagoon reed bed beside the Causeway. About 1,200 Starlings came in to roost and 100 Pink-footed Geese flew over to south-east at about 6.15 pm. RW.
Raven – 22nd September
This morning, during the bird walk, 22 Wigeon were on the Slurry Lagoon with 34 Shoveler and a Raven was heard calling from a pylon. PS
Marsh Harrier – 15th September
In the early afternoon a female Marsh Harrier was seen rising from the reed-bed on the Slurry Lagoon, headed south. DB/KB.
Hobby – 8th September
This morning, during the Birdcount, two Yellow Wagtails and good numbers of Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps were recorded. A Sedge Warbler and a Reed Warbler were in the Slurry Lagoon reed bed and a Hobby was hawking dragonflies over the Deep Pit. PS.
Great White Egret – 7th September
A Great White Egret was on the Slurry Lagoon this afternoon, plus four Common Snipe and a Green Sandpiper. A Dunlin and a Greenshank were on the riverside flash. RW.
Spotted Flycatcher – 25th August
This morning a flock of about 140 House Martins, 40 Swallows and one or two Sand Martins were on the wires by the railway bridge. Also there were two juvenile Pied Wagtails and a juvenile Yellow Wagtail. Along the Lower Path in a walnut tree near the signal box were two Spotted Flycatchers with Blackcaps, Garden Warbler and Lesser Whitethroat. PS.
There was also a report of a Great White Egret circling the site late morning. NH.
Marsh Harrier – 30th July
This morning a Marsh Harrier was seen over the Slurry Lagoon. MG
Jack Snipe – 21st July
During the ‘Insect Safari’ this morning, two Green Sandpiper, a Jack Snipe and a Cuckoo were seen. On the Causeway two Musk Beetles were found. PS.
Garganey – 14th July
This evening the Garganey was still on the EcoPark pool with one Knot, two Green Sandpipers and 13 Lapwings. RW.
