This morning a male Marsh Harrier was seen hunting over the Slurry Lagoon reed bed, but was later seen off by three Carrion Crows. A Grasshopper Warbler was heard reeling close to the railway bridge. PS.

Redstart – 27th April
This afternoon a female Redstart was found. Also three male Wheatears were on the ploughed field beyond the Wader Scrape. Forty-two Swallows were over the Large Gravel Pit and a Little Ringed Plover was on the riverside flood. RW.
Common Sandpiper – 24th April
This morning there was still one Common Sandpiper on the river and a Grasshopper Warbler was singing near the Willow Pond. A Wheatear was in the field beyond the Wader Scrape but the four Yellow Wagtails and Wheatear were gone from the potato field across the river. PS.
Egyptian Goose – 19th April
This morning at least 11 Willow Warblers were singing and many more Blackcaps were in. Three Water Rails were heard and an Egyptian goose flew over the Slurry Lagoon. PS.
In the Afternoon a male Redstart was found on the Causeway bank, two Yellow Wagtails and nine Wheatears were in the field beyond the Wader Scrape and four Common Terns were on the tern platforms. JMD.
Shelduck – 18th April
This morning there were two Shelducks on the Wader Scrape. There were still two Wheatears on the ploughed field beyond the Wader Scrape. The Reed Warbler was still singing in the NW corner of the Deep Pit and a Common Tern was on one of the platforms in the Deep Pit. PS.
Redstart – 17th April
This morning, on the Causeway, a male Redstart was seen, first on the bench and then it flew into the Deep Pit and foraged along the bank. There was a Reed Warbler singing in the reeds at the north-west end of the Deep Pit. There are still some Wheatears on the field beyond the Wader Scrape and more Whitethroats, Lesser Whitethroats and Sedge Warblers are in. A Yellow Wagtail flew along the Causeway and a Grasshopper Warbler was reeling near the north-west corner of the Large Gravel Pit. PS.
Grasshopper Warbler – 15th April
This evening there was a Grasshopper Warbler reeling by Willow Pond, eleven Wheatears on the ploughed field beyond the Wader Scrape, one Yellow Wagtail, nine Swallows, a Common Tern and two Little Ringed Plovers on the riverside flood. RW.
Common Tern – 14th April
This afternoon two Common Terns were back on their platform in the Deep Pit. JMD.
Lesser Whitethroat – 13th April
This morning a Lesser Whitethroat was heard singing near the metal gates. JMD.
In the late afternoon a Grasshopper Warbler was reeling beside the Small Gravel pit. Also there were two Little Ringed Plovers and two Dunlin on the flooded field across the river. Later two Lesser Whitethroats were heard. RW.
Arctic Tern – 12th April
This afternoon an Arctic Tern was seen briefly, feeding over the Large Gravel Pit. A Dunlin and two Little Ringed Plovers were on the flooded field across the river. RW.
In the evening a male Ring Ouzle was on the Wader Scrape. JMD.
