This morning a Curlew was heard calling as it flew over the site. A Jay flew across the Slurry Lagoon and there was a singing Lesser Whitethroat. PS.

Merlin – 15th April
This morning a Merlin was seen briefly as it flew over the site. Also seen were three Oystercatchers, two Shelduck, two Common Terns and three Fieldfares. PS.
Grasshopper Warbler – 15th April
This evening there was a Grasshopper Warbler reeling by Willow Pond, eleven Wheatears on the ploughed field beyond the Wader Scrape, one Yellow Wagtail, nine Swallows, a Common Tern and two Little Ringed Plovers on the riverside flood. RW.
Merlin – 15th April
This morning there were two Grasshopper Warblers reeling on the Slurry Lagoon. Overnight several Whitethroats had come in and female Blackcaps seem more numerous. A female Merlin flew low across the Slurry Lagoon reed bed and across the railway land and four Common Terns were on the Deep Pit. PS.
Sedge Warbler – 15th April
This morning a Sedge Warbler was heard singing in the Deep Pit and several Willow Warblers were seen and heard. RW.
In the afternoon six Common Terns were in the Deep Pit and seven Little Ringed Plover were on the Wader Scrape. Four Oystercatchers flew over, calling and displaying and Swallows were seen going into the nest sites under the railway bridge. A pair of Blackcaps and five Willow Warblers were seen along the Lower Path and Toads were seen crossing it on their way to the Slurry Lagoon. PS, RW.
