Cuckoo – 26th April

This morning two Cuckoos were calling from opposite sides of the Slurry Lagoon. There were seventeen singing Chiffchaffs, ten singing Willow Warblers, fourteen singing Blackcaps, four singing Garden Warblers, seven singing Lesser Whitethroats, twelve singing Whitethroats, thirteen singing Sedge Warblers and ten singing Reed Warblers. Redstart – 19th April

This morning two Reed Warblers were singing from the Slurry Lagoon reed bed, two Whitethroats and a Lesser Whitethroat were also singing. A Common Tern was flying around the tern platforms but left after a short while. On the Causeway a female Redstart was seen catching insects from the fencing and, near the Slurry Lagoon dry end, a male Redstart was also seen. PS.
