This morning 80 Pink-footed Geese flew west, over the site. A Peregrine was on the pylon, two Ravens flew downriver and a Stonechat was seen on the Wader Scrape. The fields near the sub-station held a large flock of small birds that contained mainly Chaffinches, Redwings, Goldfinches, Song Thrushes and Starlings. PS.

Raven – 4th February
Brimstone – 28th January
This morning, two male Brimstones were seen, one on the Causeway and one at the dry end of the Slurry Lagoon. PS.
Bittern – 26th January
This afternoon a Bittern was seen in flight in the Deep Pit. There were three Water Rail heard calling and a Peregrine was on one of the pylons. RW.
Chiffchaff – 14th January
This morning, during the bird count, a Chiffchaff was found on the river by the railway bridge and another along the Ouse Dyke. Four Egyptian Geese were also seen, flying over the site, as well as two Lesser Redpoll and there were thirteen Goldeneye on the Large Gravel Pit. PS.
