This morning, during the bird count, the Green Sandpiper was seen in the Ouse Dyke again. There were also two Grey Wagtails and a Kingfisher. Well over 200 Wigeon were on the Large Gravel Pit. PS.

Jack Snipe – 9th February
This morning the Green Sandpiper was in the Ouse Dyke, quite close to the footbridge, and the Jack Snipe was in its usual spot on the Wader Scrape. SC.
Green Sandpiper – 6th February
This morning the Green Sandpiper was seen again in the Ouse Dyke, along with a Grey Wagtail. The Jack Snipe was bobbing in its usual place on the Wader Scrape. SC.
Goosander – 5th February
This morning the Jack Snipe was found again on the Wader Scrape. The male and female Stonechats were in front of the substation and a Goosander flew over the Deep Pit. On the Slurry Lagoon there was a large gull that looked very like a Yellow-legged Gull, but it decided to fly away before it could be conclusively identified. PS.
Jack Snipe – 3rd February
This morning a Jack Snipe was seen on the water’s edge on the Wader Scrape. There were also a male and a female Stonechat. Three Little Egrets were on the Ouse Dyke and the Slurry Lagoon had three Cetti’s Warblers, two Water Rail and 36 Shoveler. PS.
Green Sandpiper – 27th January
The Green Sandpiper was showing well again in the Ouse Dyke. Also seen there was a Water Rail, Great Spotted Woodpecker and Chiffchaff. An amazing fifteen Dunnocks were counted at the bird table. SC.

This afternoon a Green Sandpiper was seen in the Ouse Dyke. JMD.
Lesser Redpoll – 24th January
This morning there were ten Lesser Redpoll on birch trees at the railway end of the Deep Pit. On the Large Gravel Pit twelve Goldeneye were counted. PS.
Raven – 22nd January
This morning there were two Ravens on the pylons. One flew from pylon to pylon calling but the other stayed put on one pylon. The other flew back several times and, after about an hour, they left. PS.
Whooper Swan – 20th January
This morning eleven Whooper Swans flew over the Large Gravel Pit and Deep Pit. Also a Raven was heard calling and then seen flying over the site. SC.
