This morning a rufous female Cuckoo was seen over the Slurry Lagoon reed-bed and the Grasshopper Warbler was reeling below the Deep Pit north bench. IEP.

Hobby – 18th May
This morning the Cuckoo was calling from the Slurry Lagoon and there were two Hobbies over the Large Gravel Pit. Some teneral Common Blue Damselflies were flying. PS.
Great White Egret – 13th May
This evening a Great White Egret flew over the Ecopark. Also there were a Greenshank, two Shoveler, a Yellow Wagtail dropped in briefly and two Lapwings on the ploughed field past the footbridge. Also on site were a Cuckoo and a Green Woodpecker. There was a report of a Turnstone present earlier. IEP.
Hobby – 12th May
This morning the warblers were all singing well at the lagoons – apart from the Grasshopper Warbler – . There were two Lesser Whitethroats singing and a Hobby was seen hawking St. Mark’s Flies over the Slurry Lagoon. A Cuckoo was calling from the large willow beside the Large Gravel Pit. PS.
Ruddy Shelduck – 11th May
This morning there were three Lapwings, four Common Terns and a Ruddy Shelduck (flew over) on the Ecopark. A Treecreeper was by the bridge from the Ouse Dyke, and there were two Cuckoo’s on site, one around the Large Gravel pit, one perched in a birch in the Slurry Lagoon reeds. Also there was a Lesser Whitethroat and Garden Warbler amongst the warblers. IEP.
Patchwatch – 9th May
Sixty-five species were counted this morning, including Cuckoo and Treecreeper. The number of warblers singing in the afternoon was breath-taking.
Cuckoo – 7th May
This evening a Cuckoo was heard calling from the birches in the Slurry Lagoon reed bed. DM/PR.

A Peregrine was seen flying over the Ecopark this morning. Also there were Little Ringed Plovers, Dunlin, Wood Sandpiper and Yellow Wagtail. A Cuckoo was heard calling from the Slurry Lagoon reed bed. IEP.
Cuckoo – 24th April
There was a Cuckoo calling from the reeds on the Slurry Lagoon. Two Yellow Wagtails were on the Ecopark, also a House Martin over it. Two Lapwings were over the Large Gravel Pit. IEP.
Cuckoo – 27th June
This morning there were two male Cuckoos calling around the reserve. The Slurry Lagoon Swans have lost another cygnet and are now down to one. The tern platforms have at least seven pairs of Common Terns on nests now. PS.
