This morning a Curlew flew over the site, calling twice. It circled the Wader Scrape before continuing north. The drake Pintail was still on the Slurry Lagoon and an Oystercatcher was across the river on the flash. PS.

Kittiwake – 2nd April
Green Sandpiper – 31st March
This evening a Green Sandpiper was seen on the flash, across the river. JDn.
Goosander – 25th March
This morning there were two male and two female Blackcaps along the Lower Path. On the Large Gravel Pit there was a female Goosander. The Blackthorn by the steps down to the metal footbridge attracted several butterflies including three Small Tortoiseshells, two Commas and a Peacock, as well as several Bee Flies and some hoverflies and bees. Emperor Moth – 24th March
Mid-afternoon three male Emperor Moths were attracted to a pheromone lure. RW.
Marsh Harrier – 23rd March
A cream-top Marsh Harrier was seen in the early afternoon, high above the lagoons. It was mobbed by two Ravens before it drifted away. RW.
Blackcap – 22nd March
Joining the throng of over 25 Chiffchaffs this morning, a Blackcap was also heard singing. JDn.
Tree Sparrow – 19th March
This morning a Tree Sparrow was seen on the bird table. Also some small flocks of Fieldfares were seen flying north. PS.
Siskin – 8th March
This morning there were eight Siskins feeding in Alders along the Access Track, a Red Kite glided over the Large Gravel Pit and an Oystercatcher flew over the Deep Pit towards the river. A Chiffchaff was singing along the Ouse Dyke, another along the Lower Path and one along the Riverside Walk. PS/DM/RJP/IEP.

Great White Egret – 7th March
This morning a Ruddy Shelduck flew over the site towards the river from the Ecopark. Later a Great White Egret flew over the site to the south. There are still good numbers of Shoveler on the Slurry Lagoon and a small flock of Lesser Redpolls were on the Slurry Lagoon birches. PS.
Later in the afternoon a Chiffchaff was heard singing in trees along the Ouse Dyke. JDn.
