This morning a steady stream of Sand Martins flew through the reserve, to the north, with a few Swallows. On the flooded field across the river was a Little Ringed Plover, Green Sandpiper and nine Oystercatchers. There were also large numbers of Tawny Mining Bees, which were seen all over the reserve. Blackcap – 31st March
This evening a Blackcap was singing from the ash trees on the north bank of the Slurry Lagoon. PS.
Late report :- This morning a Common Whitethroat and a Swallow were seen. Later a Little Ringed Plover circled the site. In the evening a Pipistrelle was seen. RW.
Osprey – 31st March
This afternoon an Osprey paused over the Slurry Lagoon as if it was about to fish, but two Buzzards moved in and if flew higher and off to the north. RW.
