Great White Egret – 14th October
This morning a Great White Egret was on the Slurry Lagoon and the first Common Gulls to return were seen. Also seen was a Clouded Yellow butterfly. IEP.
Glossy Ibis – 13th October
About midday today a Glossy Ibis flew around the Slurry Lagoon, looking to land, but thought better of it. Also, there were two female Pintails and the juvenile Garganey. MC.
Shelduck – 5th October
There was a juvenile Shelduck on the Slurry Lagoon this afternoon. JDn.
Curlew Sandpiper – 29th September
At about 09.00 a Black-tailed Godwit flew onto the Slurry Lagoon. There were also two Snipe and about four Ravens were flying about. Later the Godwit flew off towards Holme Pierrepont. The Swallow family under the railway bridge had also, at last, fledged four chicks. The chicks were flying around the bridge and then back to the nest. PS.
Later another or the same Black-tailed Godwit re-appeared. Also coming in were four Curlew Sandpipers and two Ruff. RW.

This afternoon eleven Black-tailed Godwits were on the Slurry Lagoon. Joining them for a while was one immature Garganey. MC.
Hobby – 12th September
At about noon today the Hobby was seen again, over the Slurry Lagoon. TK.
Stonechat – 11th September
This morning, during the Monthly Bird Count, a Raven, Whimbrel, Yellow Wagtail, Whinchat and Stonechat were recorded. NWG.
