This morning, during the Monthly Bird Count, a Peregrine was seen on the New Pylon and two Grasshopper Warblers were heard reeling beside the gravel pits. A Yellow Wagtail was seen on the Eco-park. PS.

Redshank – 11th July
This morning a passage Redshank was on one of the islands in the Slurry Lagoon. Worryingly there was no sign of the Common Tern chicks, which were all too young to fledge. Possibly a visit from a predator occurred during the night. An adult flew in with a fish and didn’t seem to know what to do with it. PS.
Black-tailed Godwit – 11th July
The Slurry Lagoon was a hive of activity this afternoon with young ducks, grebes and coots with their parents across almost the whole of its surface. At the back with some Lapwings were two Black-tailed Godwit and a fairly good roost of Lesser Black-backed and Black-headed Gulls, PS.
