Common Sandpipers – 2nd July
Five Common Sandpipers were seen in the Deep Pit, this afternoon.
Larva of the Vapourer Moth – June 28
Black-tailed Godwit – 1st July
Seven Black-tailed Godwits were present on the Slurry Lagoon late afternoon feeding and preening.
Little Gull – 29th June
A Little Gull thought to be the same bird as yesterday was present on the Slurry Lagoon from mid afternoon until 6.45 p.m. at least
Red Kite – 29th June
A Red Kite was seen flying over the reserve early this afternoon. A Hobby was also present. On the Slurry Lagoon there was an adult and a juvenile Little Ringed Plovers.
Little Gull – 28th June
A Little Gull has spent most of the day catching small flying insects over the Slurry Lagoon, later on joined by Black-headed Gulls. In the shallow water in front of the reeds were also four Black-tailed Godwits.
Black-tailed Godwit – 26th June
A Black-tailed Godwit and a Redshank were present on the Slurry Lagoon in the afternoon. In the morning two Curlews had been reported.
Six-belted Clearwing – 25th June
Seventeen Six-belted Clearwings were attracted to Rob Woodward’s pheromone lure on the Lower Path today. This is another nationally scarce species.
Common Tern – 25th June
The first juvenile Common Tern fledged today from one of the newly installed Tern Platforms.
