There were good numbers of Redwing around 350-400, 50+ Fieldfare, 1 Peregrine sat on the arms of one of the pylons on Severn Trent land, over 350 E.Teal, 40+Greenfinch near Rossi’s,a single Common Snipe, 2 Water Rail, 1 Cettis Warbler calling briefly from the Deep Water Lagoon bank, 75+Goldfinch mixed in with smaller numbers of Greenfinch and Linnet.(DM)

Jack Snipe – 16th October
A Jack Snipe was creeping along the edge of the left-hand reeds on the Slurry Lagoon feeding and seven Common Snipe and a single Dunlin were over towards the right-hand reed bed. Large numbers of Starlings again came in to roost – difficult to be accurate but probably eventually over 3,000 birds. JMD.
Golden Plover – 15th October
Today 6 Dunlin have been feeding along the shoreline on the Slurry Lagoon and around 90 Golden Plover have been resting in the shallow water. Over 8 Snipe are hidden amongst the reeds. RW.
Knot – 23rd September
On the Slurry Lagoon today was a Knot, which was also there yesterday. The Pintail was still present as was a Wigeon and several Snipe. PS.
Black-tailed Godwit – 19th September
Went down the Lagoons today and had a single Black tailed Godwit, 3 Common Snipe, 2 Water Rail (including one nearly fully grown juv) 3 Common Buzzard, 1 Yellow legged Gull, 3 House Martin, 2 Sparrowhawk, 3 Reed Warbler, 1 Willow Warbler and a single Jay.DM.
Greenshank – 8th September
Two Greenshank, a Water Rail and five Snipe were seen on the Slurry Lagoon this evening. RW.
Clouded Yellow – 6th August
A Clouded Yellow was seen today, flying along the Deep Pit bank, opposite the railway line. Two Small Red-eyed Damselflies were present on the Small Gravel Pit and a Green Sandpiper was seen on the Slurry Lagoon, as well as two Yellow-legged Gulls, a Common Snipe and three Shoveler.
