This morning a Marsh Harrier was seen over the Slurry Lagoon. MG
Common Tern – 17th April
This morning a Common Tern flew along the river before making a brief visit to the Deep Pit. Also in the Deep Pit, with a small flock of feeding Swallows, a House Martin paid a brief visit. PS.
Earlier on there was a report of a male Marsh Harrier, seen to land in the Slurry Lagoon reed bed before flying off in the direction of Holme Pierrepont.

This morning a female Marsh Harrier was seen over the Slurry Lagoon reed beds before flying off to the SW. RW.
Marsh Harrier – 28th March
This morning a male Marsh Harrier was seen flying out of the Slurry Lagoon reedbed. It flew around a bit before dropping back in, and then rose again to fly away high to the NE. SC/RW.
Marsh Harrier – 29th October
The Starling roost is going from strength to strength with an estimated 10,000 birds present tonight. The Sparrowhawk and the Marsh Harrier were both in attendance. JMD.
Marsh Harrier – 28th October
The Starling roost reached about 7 or 8,000 this evening and attracted a Sparrowhawk, which snatched a victim, and a cream top Marsh Harrier. JMD.
Marsh Harrier – 29th April
This morning a male Marsh Harrier was seen hunting over the Slurry Lagoon reed bed, but was later seen off by three Carrion Crows. A Grasshopper Warbler was heard reeling close to the railway bridge. PS.
Marsh Harrier – 1st April
This morning a male Marsh Harrier flew through to the north. In the evening a Little Ringed Plover displayed over the Slurry Lagoon, dry end. PS.
Marsh Harrier – 26th July
A juvenile Marsh Harrier was on the Slurry Lagoon this morning, taking a drink at the water’s edge before flying back to drop into the reeds. Two Hobbies were also seen, one carrying prey. PS.
