Bittern – 19th July
This morning a Bittern was seen crossing and recrossing the Slurry Lagoon.
On the Hoverfly Walk several colourful insects were seen, including Syrphus torvus, Xanthogramma pedissequum, Epistrophe grossulariae, Volucella inanis and Chrysotoxum festivum.
Yellow-legged Gull – 19th July
Two adult Yellow-legged Gulls were present on the Slurry Lagoon late afternoon.
Black-tailed Godwit – 19th July
During the morning a flock of fourteen Black-tailed Godwits rested for about half an hour on the Slurry Lagoon. There were also two Dunlin and a Common Sandpiper and a Grasshopper was reeling near the Large Gravel Pit.
