This morning a male Garganey was seen on the Slurry Lagoon. Later on a Red-tipped Clearwing was found on the Causeway. PS.
In the afternoon two Variable Damselflies were seen around the Small Gravel Pit. RW.


This afternoon a female Pochard was seen on the Slurry Lagoon with seven ducklings. There is also a Gadwall with eleven ducklings. There were three Red-tipped Clearwings, a Meadow Brown, a Four-spotted Chaser and a Black-tailed Skimmer RW.
The Orchid Walk went well and several more Bee Orchids were found. JC.
A first summer Little Gull rested on the Slurry Lagoon for a short time this afternoon. Three Four-spotted Chasers were seen and two Red-tipped Clearwings were attracted to lures. On the southern, inside bank of the Deep Pit several Burnet Companions were seen. The cygnets were out briefly and a Gadwall with nine new ducklings and a Mallard with four were also on the Slurry Lagoon. RW.
Six Red-tipped Clearwings, Synanthedon formicaeformis, came to Rob Woodwards’ pheromone lure in sallows near the containers.
