In the evening the Bittern was seen flying over the reed beds and the Garganey was still present. RW.

Today a Garganey was seen on the Slurry Lagoon. There were also two Green Sandpipers on the Ecopark. RW.

A Bittern was seen this morning, flying between the reed beds on the Slurry Lagoon. SC.

Goosander – 5th July

This morning a female Goosander was seen swimming upstream on the Trent. A Shelduck was on the Slurry Lagoon.

During the Butterfly Walk fourteen species of butterfly were found, including Small, Essex and Large Skippers, Brimstone, Holly Blue and about fifteen Commas. PS.
