The orchids are beginning to come out now and several Marsh Orchids can be seen, especially around the Slurry Lagoon and Deep Pit. The first Bee Orchid was found today at the northern end of the Deep Pit. PS.

This morning there was at least one Cuckoo calling across the Slurry Lagoon. Later a Ruddy Shelduck and two Egyptian Geese flew across the Large Gravel Pit. Up to twelve Swifts were foraging over the Slurry Lagoon with two House Martins. PS.
