Arctic Tern – 14th April

This afternoon an Arctic Tern briefly flew over the Deep Pit and Slurry Lagoon before disappearing back where it came from. There seemed to have been no new arrivals of the warblers, with only one or two of each species locatable. A Bee Fly was seen on the Willow Walk. PS.

Also this afternoon about 4.00 p.m. a female Marsh Harrier flew through the Reserve heading South East. JMD.

Little Ringed Plover – 5th April

A Little Ringed Plover settled briefly at the dry end of the Slurry Lagoon this morning. There were also two Cetti’s Warblers singing, three Willow Warblers, three Blackcaps, and several Chiffchaffs. Four Shelduck were on the Slurry Lagoon and several Swallows and Sand Martins were seen. Over the Severn Trent land several hundred Golden Plover were flying. PS.
