The Slurry Lagoon was alive with geese late this afternoon. About 130 Canadas and approximately 600 Greylag were present with an interesting assortment of hybrids. The S.T. fields of sweetcorn have been harvested and this is no doubt what has attracted them to the Lagoons. Two Swallows also flew quickly through. JMD..

Geese – 9th October
For the last few evenings large numbers of Greylag and Canada Geese have been flying on to the Slurry Lagoon to roost probably attracted to the area by the spilt corn from the harvested fields. Mid morning today over 800 Greylag and 130 Canadas were still present with some extremely light hybrids among the Greylag flock. JMD.
