Description

Body length 7 - 10mm.  The thorax is grey with black longitudinal lines  and the abdomen is pale with blackish markings. The femora are red.

Habitat

Well vegetated areas, hedgerows and field edges. At Netherfield Lagoons found on tall emergent vegetation beside a pool.

Status and distribution

Fairly common and widespread in England and Wales, less common in Scotland. Recorded once at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

April and May.
