Description
Forewing length 30mm. The wings are brown with a dark patch down the centre, which is often broken in two and absent in the male. this is the largest Caddis to be found in Britain.
Habitat
Still or slow flowing water, lakes canals and pools.
Status and distribution
Widespread through most of southern and eastern England and the Midlands, less common in the West Country, Wales and Scotland. Common in Nottinghamshire but only recorded once at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
May to July.
