Caddis Fly

Agrypnia pagetana

Description

Fore-wing length 10 to 15mm. The wings, legs and antennae are pale orange/buff. The eyes and wing veins darker.

Habitat

Lakes and ponds. The larvae are predators in the mud around the edges.

Status and distribution

Thinly distributed through the lowlands of Scotland and Wales. Fairly common in the Midlands and East Anglia. Fairly common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

April to September.
