Description

Forewing 8 to 10mm. Brown and very hairy with very long, banded antennae. There are several similar species.

Habitat

Large rivers and lakes.

Status and distribution

Widespread and common throughout Britain, although getting slightly less common further north. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

May to August.
