Sulphur Tubic
Esperia sulphurella
Description
Wingspan 12 - 15mm. The wings are dark with subtle yellow streaking. There is a yellow triangle on the rear edge of the back of the fore-wing and a yellow streak from the shoulder.
Habitat
Woodlands and hedgerows. The larvae feed under the bark of dead wood.
Status and distribution
Common and fairly widespread in southern Britain. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
April to June.
