Straw Grass-veneer
Agriphila straminella
Description
Wingspan 16 to 19mm. The wings are the colour of dried grass with minimal markings.
Habitat
Meadows, waste ground road verges, anywhere that grass grows. The larva feeds inside the bottom of the grass stem.
Status and distribution
Common and widespread throughout most of Britain. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
July and August.
