Description

Wingspan 35 - 42mm. Very like Poplar and Alder Kittens, but the central grey band is darker on the Alder Kitten and straighter edged on the Poplar Kitten.

Habitat

Found on willows, poplars and aspen.

Status and distribution

Found throughout Britain, but commoner in the south. Fairly common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

May to August.
